Remediation with positive outcomes

I found this study on ed.gov U.S. Department of Education, Institute of Education Sciences, What Works Clearinghouse. (2013, July). WWC review of the report: Large-scale randomized controlled trial with 4th graders using intelligent tutoring of the structure strategy to improve nonfiction reading comprehension. The interesting piece is looking at measurable chucks of education delivered electronically providing real time feedback. It is a logical way to provide the one to one ratio for teaching struggling learners.

If all digital courses included a real time remediation tool I wonder how much test score gain we could see in the middle years where progress is so heavily impacted by building on prior knowledge.
